Retail sector under the scrutiny of cyber hackers in India

According to a recent report the Indian retail industry happens to be the second-most targeted section after financial services by cyber attackers as data protection is fast turning out to be a tough task to manage.

It was revealed at the India Retail Forum last month that more than 90% of the apps tested by PWC India are susceptible with over 230,000 new malware samples being produced daily, incurring a cost of $100 billion.

All this means that the newer forms of retail businesses, especially the online sector, would need to invest sincerely in data protection tools to safeguard consumer interests and their own sustainability in the long run.
